Roles & Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
- Align with senior stakeholders to define product vision, long-term strategy, and success metrics.
- Conduct competitive benchmarking and market research to stay updated on industry trends and identify innovation opportunities.
Product Planning & Requirement Management
- Develop detailed process maps with clear POD (Point of Delivery) and POA (Plan of Action).
- Define comprehensive functional and technical product requirements.
- Prioritize requirements based on impact assessment, dependencies, and strategic value.
- Break down product needs into capabilities, features, and well-defined user stories.
Solutioning & Architecture
- Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to define target-state architecture and solution approach.
- Identify MVP scope and ensure effective backlog prioritization and management.
Agile Delivery & Execution
- Plan, lead, and execute PI (Program Increment) ceremonies in alignment with SAFe Agile principles.
- Provide end-to-end product management support across multiple workstreams.
- Manage dependencies, risk mitigation, scope changes, and cross-functional coordination.
- Ensure timely delivery of product increments through effective release planning and execution.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Act as a primary liaison between business, technology, and operations teams.
- Communicate product updates, risks, and decisions clearly to senior leadership.
- Create compelling presentations using PowerPoint for executive-level communication.
Tools & Governance
- Utilize JIRA, Rally, MS Visio, Excel, and related tools for backlog management, tracking, and documentation.
- Apply product best practices including roadmap creation, user acceptance, testing coordination, and product launch planning.
Domain Expertise
- Provide subject matter knowledge in Cards, Payments, and Accounts Receivables.
- Leverage banking and financial services experience to guide solutions in a complex regulatory environment.
- Experience with American Express systems or projects is a strong plus.
Mandatory Skills
- 5 years’ experience in Product Management/Product Ownership for large-scale, complex, time-sensitive programs.
- Strong experience with cards & payments implementations in banking/financial institutions.
- Hands-on expertise with product lifecycle best practices—roadmapping, requirements definition, UAT, and launch readiness.
- Strong analytical skills, competitive benchmarking ability, and decision-making based on data insights.
- Proficiency with JIRA, Rally, MS Visio, Excel, and other product management tools.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Expertise in SAFe Agile, software development lifecycle, testing, release planning, and migration programs.
Desired Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience in financial services or consumer technology product development.
- Strong understanding of banking products, payment systems, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to manage large programs for banks and financial institutions.
- Proficiency in data analytics and using data for product decisions.
