Burcham Hills is an upscale senior living retirement community located in the backyard of Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. We currently have a vacancy for a Scheduling Coordinator to work a Full-Time schedule in our Resident Center. In this position the Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for ensuring efficient operations for the Resident Center Department by providing administrative support with a focus on scheduling, payroll completion, recruiting, onboarding and in addition to but not limited to the following duties:
Qualifications: Prior scheduling experience is a plus. Experience in a Assisted Living/Long-Term Care facility preferred. Demonstrated skill in interviewing techniques and a working knowledge of federal and state laws regarding interviewing and hiring practices preferred, will train. Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend written and oral instructions in English. Proficient in Windows environment, MS Office and other data base programs. Proficient mathematical skills.

- Coordinate, prepare and forecast schedules for Resident Center staff, utilizing established formulas/schedules, and post appropriately and timely.
- Follow up with call-ins appropriately and timely to ensure the proper coverage levels at all times within established budget.
- Manage labor hour usage and ensure policies are followed.
- Track attendance and time worked, communicating concerns to management.
- Review, approve and track PTO requests, collaborating with management, as needed.
- Strategize and advise management of projected concerns and possible changes to maximize effectiveness of labor usage and staffing/scheduling outcomes.
- Perform payroll duties for the Department.
- Enter punch corrections, enter paid time off, review and update in/out punches for lunch/split shifts, review and enter holiday hours, recode training and secondary job codes, monitor early and late punch ins, etc.
- Assist with screening applicants who have applied for a position. Conduct interviews.
