Duties
As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Observing and documenting patient behavior and progress, ensuring any changes are communicated effectively.
- Supporting residents in participating in community activities and social interactions to promote inclusion.
- Implementing individualized care plans that respect resident rights and preferences.
- Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for individuals in your care.
- Maintaining a safe and clean environment in group home or residential settings.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in caregiving or direct support roles, particularly in home community care or group home settings.
- Knowledge of resident rights and advocacy for individuals with disabilities.
- Experience with developmental disabilities and setting boundaries.
- Strong observational skills to monitor patient behavior and respond appropriately.
- Person centered, meaning willing to think of what the client needs and wants in a given day

Shifts Available:
*We are a 24 hour 365 agency which means that we work on holidays, weekends, day or night depending on the hours that need to be filled*
- We are looking for someone who has flexibility with their schedule and willing to commute from Fortuna to McKinleyville
- We have weekdays, weekends, overnights and subbing positions available
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.50 per hour
