Floor Manager - Bumble Brews Cary

We are looking for a Floor Manager to join our great team at (Cary location), which is an indoor kid’s play space that also serves coffee, beer, and wine for parents. In this role, you will help run the daily operations during your shift and serve as the first point of contact with our guests which involves checking them in, helping them sign our safety waivers, and answering any questions they may have. Other day-to-day responsibilities include making cafe drinks at our full-service coffee bar, proactively keeping the space clean and sanitized, changing out play equipment and toys regularly, and making sure our guests feel as welcome and comfortable as possible from the time they enter until they leave.

We also host private birthday parties and ticketed events, so this role also involves assisting with the coordination and set-up/cleanup of parties and events, being the first point of contact to the host families, and promoting these events to our customers.

This is a part-time position, and the expected range of hours per week is between 12-28 hours. Our hours of operation are 8am-6pm daily, so this would involve opening the store on certain days, and closing the store on other days.

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests helping them feel welcome and comfortable, assisting them with signing safety waivers, and answering any questions they have during their visit to ensure they have a positive experience from when they arrive to when they leave
• Keeping the space clean/sanitized including picking up the play area, occasionally sanitizing all of the play equipment, and keeping the bar/cafe area/restrooms/party room clean and organized
• Making coffee and tea drinks for customers at our full-service coffee bar, and serving customers beer/wine (if you are 18 ).
• Ensure parents are supervising their children during their visit to help promote a safe environment; being able to speak up when needed in order to keep the environment safe
• Assist with the coordination of private birthday parties and ticket events including helping promote them, assisting with set up and clean up, and making sure our guests have what they need during their event.
• Overseeing the completion of the opening/closing checklist, depending on shift
• Serving as point person when owner or Store Manager is not there for issues, questions from customers, and management of staff
• Overseeing the clean-up and ensuring space is adequately sanitized and orderly
• Cash handling at open/close
• Prepping facility for the morning shift when closing
• Ensuring building is secure and locked upon exiting (including arming alarm)

Qualifications

• Outgoing/people person and ability to build relationships
• Experience and enjoyment with working with kids is preferred
• Ability to learn quickly and openness to learn new things
• Great organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills (in-person, online and via telephone)
• Punctual
• Proactive and go-getter attitude
• Openness to others’ points of views and advice
• 18 years of age or older

Pay Range: Starting pay of $12.00/hour, plus tips which are pooled and distributed to staff each pay period based on the number of hours worked. This equates to between ~$14.00 - $18.00/hours depending on the number of hours worked.

Hours: Expected range of between 12-28 per week. Weekdays and weekends are a requirement, as the bulk of our business is on the weekends. We do our best to try to schedule everyone for one 1 weekend day per week.

About Bumble Brews

Bumble Brews (www.bumblebrewsplaycafe.com) is an indoor children’s play facility and cafe where parents can enjoy “brews” such as specialty coffees from our full-service coffee bar, craft beer, or wine, while kids burn off some steam. Bumble Brews was started in Cary in 2020, and our Raleigh location opened in December 2023.
