Duties
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional tow trucks, to recover and transport vehicles efficiently and safely.
- Load, unload, and secure vehicles using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, or forklifts when necessary.
- Perform basic automotive diagnostics and mechanical assessments to determine the best recovery approach or identify potential issues.
- Assist customers with roadside emergencies by providing professional support, clear communication, and timely service.
- Maintain accurate logs of all recoveries, loads, unloads, and vehicle details for documentation purposes.
- Conduct routine inspections of tow truck equipment and perform minor repairs or notify maintenance teams for repairs.
- Manage conflict situations professionally with customers or other drivers to ensure positive resolutions.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair and diagnostics.
- Familiarity with manual transmissions and automotive systems to troubleshoot vehicle issues effectively.
- Proven experience operating tow trucks, flatbeds, or similar commercial driving vehicles.
- Ability to load and unload vehicles safely using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual tools.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and manage conflict professionally.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving license preferred.
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures, load securing techniques, and safety protocols related to towing operations.
