This role includes performing quantity takeoffs, distributing bid invitations, evaluating subcontractor proposals, analyzing plans and specifications, and working closely with the project management team to ensure a smooth handoff after award.Key ResponsibilitiesReview project plans, specifications, and related documents to fully understand project requirementsPrepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipmentSolicit, manage, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bidsDevelop complete and competitive bid proposalsIdentify value engineering opportunities and provide alternative solutionsBuild and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendorsAttend pre-bid meetings and site visits as neededMaintain organized estimate files and documentationCoordinate with project managers for turnover meetings once a project is awardedAssist with budgeting, conceptual estimates, and early project pricingQualifications1 years of estimating experience in commercial construction (QSR, retail, or similar sectors preferred)Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and processesAbility to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specificationsProficiency with estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar)Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and organizational skillsAbility to work under deadlines and manage multiple bids simultaneouslyHigh attention to detail and accuracySelf-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a teamBenefitsCompetitive salaryHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and holidaysRetirement programOpportunities for professional development and career growthPositive, team-oriented company culture
