Civil Estimator/Construction Project Manager
7 years of civil construction highway/roadway estimating experience required.
McAnany Construction, a long-established, family-owned and operated civil construction company, based in Kansas City, seeks a proactive, hands-on self-starter with impeccable attention to detail to join our growing team of Estimators/Project Managers. As our Estimator, you will play a key role in analyzing project plans, specifications, and other information to determine material, labor, and equipment costs, ultimately producing accurate cost estimates for bids and project budgets.
Responsibilities:
- Work with peers, superintendents, vendors, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure the accuracy of estimates
- Manage all phases of construction projects from start to finish including creating and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and scope documents
- Request bids from subcontractors and suppliers; negotiate for competitive pricing
- Build and maintain strong client relationships acting as their primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle
- Build relationships with vendors, suppliers, and coworkers to ensure effective communication
- Prepare and manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and close-outs ensuring compliance with deadlines and requirements
- Conduct regular project meetings and site walks to monitor progress and quality on current projects resolving issues promptly, including site conditions, schedule delays, or scope changes
Qualifications:
- 7 years’ civil construction experience in estimating earthwork, sewer, asphalt, concrete, etc. for public street and private site construction
- AGTEK construction software experience, particularly Gradework, or similar software proficiency required
- Experience working with city or private clients on pay estimates
- Strong teamwork, communication, critical thinking, organizational, time management, problem-solving, and PC skills, including Microsoft Office suite proficiency
- Valid driver’s license with availability to travel locally to job sites
- Experience with asphalt, concrete, and/or site development preferred
- Local candidate with existing relationships, contacts, and clients is a plus
- PMP or CCM certification is a plus
