Position Summary
- The Commercial Lines Account Manager oversees all aspects associated with servicing commercial insurance client accounts from initial account setup to year-round service support and renewal. Must maintain a valid Property & Casualty insurance license in Kansas & Missouri. Must abide all by state insurance laws, and insurance carrier regulations. An essential function of the position will be to maintain a strong professional relationship with the client.
Job Function:
- Setup new accounts in agency management system.
- Review new account policies for accuracy upon issuance.
- Service client needs during policy term including ongoing contact to assess risk and coverage needs as client’s business changes.
- Review and confirm client’s renewal coverages adhering to agency’s 120-day renewal procedures guidelines.
- Consult with client at policy renewal to review coverages, make recommendations, and make policy changes.
- Remarket coverages based on market conditions, change in needs or exposure, and customer requests.
- Gather necessary underwriting information, applications, and supplemental applications necessary for successful remarketing.
- Negotiate with underwriters on matters of underwriting acceptability, coverages, pricing, and terms.
- Confirm coverages & policy renewal with carrier in a timely fashion.
- Negotiate with client on matters of coverage, pricing, and terms.
- Arrange premium financing if needed.
- Bind coverage with carriers.
- Complete invoicing transactions if required.
- Accept and collect noncash payments from clients.
- Review hard copies of renewal policies when received for accuracy.
- Prepare hard copies of policies for client delivery and proposal.
- Document all transactions with clients in agency’s management system adhering to agency guidelines & procedures including using the correct naming conventions.
- Take direction from producers and agency department heads regarding servicing of commercial accounts.
- Be available for work during core service hours of 8:00 – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
- Adhere to all company policies, business ethics codes, insurance laws and agency procedures as outlined within the company’s employee handbook, core values and the agency’s procedures manual.
