We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our employee-owned Eureka team. Reporting to the DC Manager, this role serves as a primary point of contact for customers by receiving and processing orders, supporting sales efforts, resolving issues, and helping ensure a smooth and accurate order-to-delivery experience.

What You’ll Do
- Provide friendly, professional service when receiving all customer calls
- Remain logged into the phone system for 90% of the workday and answer calls before the third ring
- Give appropriate attention and support to key account holders
- Enter telephone, email, and faxed orders into the company database accurately and efficiently
- Follow up on open orders as needed
- Maintain strong working relationships with Outside Sales Representatives by communicating pricing and other requested information
- Resolve purchasing and delivery discrepancies and recommend appropriate corrective action
- Create quotes in AS400 and distribute them to customers and/or Outside Sales Representatives
- Process shipped-less-than-ordered and pre-invoice audit reports
- Help move slow-moving inventory specials (SDO)
- Audit handler order status to ensure there are no status 10 or 00 orders at day’s end
- Create inventory hold tags
- Prepare requests for credit/debit memos for review by the Branch Manager or DC Manager
- Stay current on product knowledge and updates
- Make scripted outbound calls to customers regarding product information and updates
- Submit IT work orders through Community Manager for computer-related issues
- Attend product training meetings before or after regular work hours as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Branch Manager or DC Manager
- Assist with operational administrative tasks, including will-call paperwork and occasional inventory checks
- Provide cross-departmental and cross-location support to coordinate internal material transfers for customer orders
- Support entry-level purchasing needs for customer special orders
What We’re Looking For:
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Building materials and customer service experience preferred
- Equivalent experience may be considered; 5 years of relevant experience is preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and comfort using databases and spreadsheet applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional, customer-friendly approach
- Solid math skills, including the ability to work with fractions and decimals
- Understanding of business concepts such as cost, margin, and profitability
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask, exercise sound judgment, and meet deadlines in a busy environment
