What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabrication Automation Engineer position at Building Envelope Solutions?
BES is seeking a highly capable Fabrication Automation Engineer to help modernize and automate our engineering and fabrication workflows for custom windows, doors, curtain wall, and architectural glazing systems.
This role will focus on developing parametric and rule-based automation tools that reduce repetitive engineering work and generate fabrication outputs automatically based on system configurations and dimensions.

- Automated cut lists
- Glass sizing calculations
- Fabrication drawings
- CNC/machining outputs
- Bill of materials generation
- Door handing and configuration automation
- Parametric frame and sash adjustments
The ideal candidate understands both CAD systems and manufacturing logic.
Preferred Skills:
- AutoCAD automation/API experience
- VBA, Python, C#, or similar scripting languages
- Parametric modeling experience
- Manufacturing or fabrication workflow automation
- Experience with window, door, curtain wall, millwork, or industrial fabrication systems preferred
- Familiarity with Excel-based automation and formula logic
- Experience with LogiKal, Alumicad, Inventor, SolidWorks, Dynamo, Grasshopper, or similar platforms is a plus
This is not a typical drafting role. We are looking for someone who can help us build scalable internal engineering systems that reduce manual work, increase speed, and improve accuracy across fabrication and production.

Compensation:
Based on experience and capability.
