Position Summary
The Business Analyst for Sales and Distribution plays a key role in driving revenue growth and operational efficiency. By analyzing data, optimizing processes, and enhancing sales tools, the Analyst ensures that Sales and Distribution teams are equipped to succeed. Acting as a liaison between sales leadership, distribution partners, operations, and Information Technology, the Analyst provides support that enables both the sales force and distribution channels to maximize profitability.

Acting as a liaison between sales leadership, distribution partners, operations, and Information Technology, the Analyst provides support that enables both the sales force and distribution channels to maximize profitability.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales and Distribution leadership and agents/brokers to identify and understand business needs and objectives.
- Conduct research on market trends, competitor distribution and sales strategies, and customer buying behaviors to provide strategic insights to leadership. Provide intelligence and data-driven recommendations to inform business strategy.
- Support annual planning process, including sales targets and distribution expansion.
- Translate sales and distribution goals into actionable systems, processes, or reporting requirements.
- Gather, validate, and analyze sales and distribution data from multiple sources to assess key performance metrics, including new business, retention, cross-selling, and distribution channel profitability.
- Develop executive-level reports, dashboards, and presentations to track performance across territories, products, agents, and channels.
- Conduct gap analysis to compare current distribution processes with desired outcomes, identifying trends and providing actionable recommendations to enhance performance.
- Design and map workflows for key distribution processes such as agency onboarding, licensing, commission payments, and CRM adoption. Propose and implement process improvements to increase efficiency for sales teams and distribution partners.
- Serve as a key liaison between Sales & Distribution teams and IT/CRM teams to ensure alignment and facilitate communication.
- Test and validate enhancements to sales platforms, quoting tools, and portals used by agents and brokers.
- Provide training to sales and distribution staff on new tools, processes, and systems, and act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting any issues.
- Assist in the design and analysis of commission and incentive programs, ensuring accuracy in incentive calculations and alignment with sales goals.
- Act as a change agent, supporting the successful implementation of new distribution and sales initiatives.
- Assist in forecasting premium growth across different distribution channels.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Three or more years of experience involving reporting and analytics, business intelligence and market dynamics, systems development and technical writing
- Proficient in analysis, problem solving and prioritization; ability to evaluate situations and make appropriate recommendations
- Skill in organizational and time management with attention to detail, ensuring tasks and deliverables are executed with accuracy and precision
- Skill in verbal and written communication, facilitating clear and effective exchange of information; ability to generate process documentation and reports
- Ability to function independently as well as collaborate in a team environment with skill in interpersonal communication and the ability to multi-task
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and position specific technology tools
