Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mold Builder / Fabricator to join our production team. This position is responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining production molds used to cast architectural precast and cast stone components. The ideal candidate has experience in carpentry, mold fabrication, or industrial manufacturing, and takes pride in creating accurate, high-quality forms.
Responsibilities
· Build, modify, and maintain molds using wood, bondo, fiberglass, rubber, and/or plastic materials
· Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and part dimensions
· Measure and layout mold components accurately using tape measures, calipers, and squares
· Assemble molds using saws, drills, fasteners, and adhesives
· Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish meet specifications
· Repair damaged or worn molds between production runs
· Assist with form setup, demolding, tamping, or stacking as needed on the production floor
· Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures
· Field measure intricate or radius pieces as needed
Preferred Experience & Skills
· Carpentry, woodworking, or cabinet-making background preferred
· Experience with wood, fiberglass, polyurethane, or silicone molds a plus
· Comfortable with hand tools, power tools, and small fabrication equipment
· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
· Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
· Team-oriented and dependable with a positive attitude
Requirements
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Reliable transportation
· Prior mold, form, or concrete fabrication experience is preferred (training provided for motivated candidates)
