As a Territory Manager, you'll help drive that impact across Tennessee by supporting agency relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and helping deliver solutions that create long-term value for our partners and policyholders.

Working closely with agency partners and internal teams, you'll support profitable growth, business retention, and larger account opportunities while serving as a key connection point between the field and Builders Mutual.
This position offers the flexibility of a home office, regular travel throughout Tennessee, and opportunities to connect with teammates and leaders throughout the year.
Your WORK as a Territory Manager will make a difference by:
- Monitoring agency performance, including production, premium growth, profitability, retention, submission activity, and overall agency results
- Developing and executing business plans that support profitable growth and strengthen agency performance
- Building, managing, and maintaining strong relationships with appointed agents, producers, and agency leaders
- Serving as the primary liaison between Builders Mutual and agency partners
- Partnering with agencies on growth opportunities, including larger and more complex account strategies
- Educating agents on Builders Mutual products, services, underwriting appetite, eligibility guidelines, pricing philosophy, and cross-selling opportunities
- Leading the resolution of agency questions and concerns while ensuring a positive partner experience
- Managing territory profitability and implementing action plans to improve growth, retention, and overall performance
- Collaborating closely with underwriting, claims, risk management, marketing, and internal partners to support agency success
- Staying informed on market trends and competitor activity within the territory
Travel Requirements
This is a field-based position requiring travel throughout Tennessee approximately 65–75% of the time, including occasional overnight travel.
Skills to get the JOB done RIGHT:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years of property and casualty insurance experience, preferably in territory management, agency management, business development, or relationship management
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance principles, policy language, and underwriting practices
- Ability to build credibility and influence with agency partners and internal stakeholders
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills
- Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze performance and identify growth opportunities
- Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business technology tools
