Role Description
This full-time, on-site role as a Summer Camp Cooking Instructor is based in Westwood, NJ. The instructor will lead fun, engaging, and educational cooking classes for a diverse group of campers, teaching essential cooking techniques and fostering creativity in the kitchen. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, managing food preparation activities, educating campers about nutrition, supervising kitchen safety, and promoting a positive and inclusive environment. The instructor will collaborate with camp staff to ensure a seamless integration of cooking activities into the overall summer camp programming.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and skills in Cooking, Food Preparation, and Culinary Arts
- Ability to provide Nutrition Education and an understanding of basic Nutrition principles
- Experience working with children in an instructional or coaching capacity
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Food safety certification is a plus
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
