Role Description
This is a contract, on-site role for a STEM Teacher at our summer day camp in Westwood, NJ. The STEM Teacher will design and implement fun, educational lesson plans that engage children in science, technology, engineering, and math activities. Responsibilities include leading interactive group sessions, fostering curiosity, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment, and adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Collaboration with fellow camp staff to create an enriching summer experience is key.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Lesson Planning and Teaching, with the ability to adapt activities to various learning styles and age groups.
- Expertise in Education and Training, with prior experience working in a camp, school, or similar youth-focused environment.
- Excellent Communication skills for effectively engaging with children, staff, and parents.
- A background or interest in STEM fields is highly preferred.
- Ability to manage a classroom environment with energy and enthusiasm while fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM, or a related field is a plus but not required.
- CPR/First Aid certification and previous camp experience are a strong advantage.
