Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Preconstruction Manager with deep expertise in MEP systems to lead the planning and early-phase development of data center projects. This role is responsible for driving budgeting, estimating, scheduling, and technical coordination to set projects up for successful execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all preconstruction activities for data center MEP scopes from concept through GMP
- Develop and manage detailed cost estimates, budgets, and value engineering strategies
- Collaborate with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders during design development
- Evaluate drawings, specifications, and constructability of MEP systems
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain pricing and technical input
- Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities early in the project lifecycle
- Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with operations teams
- Participate in client presentations and contribute to winning new work
- Ensure alignment with mission-critical standards and redundancy requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
- 4–10 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or project management with a strong MEP focus
- Proven experience in commercial projects or data center/ mission-critical environments strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of:
- Electrical systems
- Mechanical systems (HVAC, cooling infrastructure)
- Experience developing conceptual and detailed estimates
- Proficiency with estimating and preconstruction tools (Bluebeam, Excel, BIM, etc.)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience with hyperscale or data center projects
- Familiarity with fast-track design-build delivery methods
- Experience supporting business development and client pursuits

Salary : $120,000 - $145,000
