Position Overview:
The Procurement Specialist will support the daily execution of material procurement and supply chain activities for utility-scale solar and BESS projects. This role focuses on providing administrative support, processing and tracking material orders, maintaining data accuracy in procurement tools, coordinating with suppliers, and assisting the Procurement Manager in ensuring project teams have the materials needed to meet construction schedules. This position will collaborate closely with the design, estimating, and project teams.
Essential Functions:
- Order & Schedule Management:Track material delivery dates against the construction schedule; proactivelyidentifyand flag potential delays to the Procurement Manager and project team.
- Procurement Support:Administer the request for proposal (RFP) process, including organizing bid packages, tracking supplier responses,assistingwithproposal pricingcomparisonsandsupplier selectionrecommendations.
- Stakeholder Coordination:Participatein weekly procurement meetings with internal teams and suppliers;assistwith meeting minutes and action item tracking.
- Vendor Relations:Act as a day-to-day point of contact for suppliersregardingmaterial orders and issues requiring resolution.
- Contract Administration:Assistin drafting, assembling, and organizing material purchase agreements andchangeorders for management review.
- Data Integrity:Maintainaccuratepricing data and lead time information in procurement tools/software to support preconstruction efforts.
- Technical Verification:Cross-reference material quotes and purchase orders against project drawings and specifications to ensure order accuracy.
- Budget Tracking:Monitor materialspendagainst specific cost codes andassistin preparing monthly variance reports.
- Site Support:Support the onsite team with ongoing material needs and supplier issues, including quality issues and ensuring delivery of material ona timelybasis.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 0-3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or construction coordination.
- Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office and willingness to learn project management software.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skillspossessingthe ability to interact with suppliers and internal teams.
- Ability toidentifypotential delays or issues in the supply chain and escalate them to management promptly.
- Ability to perform under schedule restraints.
- Must have a valid driver’s license andgood drivingrecord.
Working Conditions:
- Approximately 10-15% travel to national project sites as needed.
- Constructionsiteenvironment – physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend,reachand climb. Exposed to high noise levels.
- General work environment – sitting forlong periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
- Noise level isusually lowto medium; it can be loud on thejobsite.
