Duties
- Engage with customers to understand their flooring needs, preferences, and project scope, providing expert advice on products such as hardwood, laminate, tile, carpet, and specialty flooring options
- Conduct product demonstrations and layout designs using tools like SketchUp, CAD, or lighting design software to help clients visualize their spaces
- Assist clients with inside sales activities including upselling premium products and remodeling fixtures to maximize customer satisfaction and sales revenue
- Manage client relationships through effective communication, follow-up, and account management to foster loyalty and repeat business
- Prepare accurate quotes, process transactions via POS systems, handle cashing out procedures, and maintain organized stock levels on the sales floor
- Collaborate with the remodeling and construction teams to coordinate installation schedules and ensure quality standards are met during project execution
- Utilize CRM systems for customer data management, track sales progress, and implement marketing strategies to attract new clients
Qualifications
- Proven experience in outside or inside sales within the flooring, renovation, or construction industries is highly desirable
- Strong proficiency with SketchUp, CAD software, Microsoft Office Suite, and POS systems; familiarity with lighting design or interior design tools is a plus
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of closing deals effectively while maintaining customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of remodeling processes, fixture sales, construction materials, maintenance practices, and lighting or interior design concepts
- Multilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse client bases effectively
- Exceptional communication skills—both verbal and written—to build rapport with clients and team members
- Organizational skills that enable efficient stock management, merchandising, and event planning for product demos or marketing initiatives
- Basic math skills for retail math calculations including discounts, measurements, and cost estimates; experience with cash handling is essential
- A proactive attitude toward upselling high-end products such as premium flooring options or lighting fixtures during customer interactions
