GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the General Supervision of the Director Consultant Dietitian, and the Charge Cook, the dining room aides job is to set up the dining room quickly and in accurately in a neat and an attractive manner.
FUNCTIONS:
Responsibilities: Sanitary and safe handling of foods and equipment. Carefully follows directions and serves only food specified on modified diets, adhering to mealtime schedules, meeting deadlines and serving food and beverages at proper temperatures.
Physical Demands:
1. Stands, and walks most of the working day. Stoops for, reaches for, and lifts food and equipment.
2. Lifting any object in excess of 40 pounds will need the assistance of equipment or another person.
Special Demands: Ability to work cooperatively with others. Ability to exercise good judgement in preparing food and maintaining efficient standards of operations. Ability to follow standardized recipes and spreadsheets.
Working Environment: Works in a clean, well lighted, well ventilated kitchen. Must be able to withstand heat while working around stoves and ovens and changes in temperature when going in and out of refrigerators and freezers. Must be cautious while working with kitchen equipment and avoid cuts and burns and while working on wet & slippery floors to avoid falls.

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training Must be able to read, write and follow simple oral and written instructions. High School Diploma preferred. Some training in food preparation is desirable.
Personal Good personal hygiene. Able to get along with residents and staff in a professional manner.
Job Knowledge Knowledge of sanitation standards. Must be able to follow directions of Director or Charge Cook. Should have a knowledge of standards of attractive food service and high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and neatness.
