Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community provides direct nursing care to residents under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. This role ensures residents receive high-quality, compassionate care while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and facility standards.

• Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs and overall health

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed

• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility

• Monitor and document resident conditions and report changes to RN or physician

• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation

• Assist in developing and updating care plans

• Respond to resident calls and emergencies in a timely manner

• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety procedures

• Supervise and support Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) when needed

• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members

• Current LPN license in the state of employment (e.g., Kansas)

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program

• Basic knowledge of nursing practices and patient care

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work as part of a healthcare team

• Compassionate, patient-focused attitude

• Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or rehabilitation preferred

• CPR/BLS certification

• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods

• Lift or assist residents (up to 50 pounds with support)

• Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching
