Spa Receptionist

FLSA STATUS: This is a part-time or full-time, hourly; non-exempt position

TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE (DAYS/HRS PER WEEK): TBD

JOB PURPOSE:  Provides courteous and efficient guest service from the point of arrival through checkout, answers phones, schedules appointments, and guides guests throughout their spa experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•          Provide efficient guest service from the point of arrival to check out; including welcoming guests upon arrival, scheduling treatments in person/over the phone/via email, answering all spa-related guest inquiries, and giving tours of spa common areas according to Wo’ P’in Spa guidelines.
•          Assist all guests with a kind and helpful demeanor whenever called upon, greet all guests with a smile, and always strive to anticipate guest needs.
•          Utilize the spa software to effectively and accurately schedule/adjust/cancel spa treatments, accept payment for services rendered and/or retail sold, and efficiently book treatment rooms in order to streamline service provider schedules.
•          Provide guests with spa treatment and package descriptions as well as personalized treatment recommendations based on their needs.
•          Educate guests on available retail and merchandise in order to increase overall guest satisfaction and sales.
•          Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the spa front desk and lobby; including the retail shelves and displays, robe racks, light vacuuming, and dusting.
•          Excel in both verbal and written communication skills; including spelling, grammar, tone, and typing proficiency.
•          Assist in all spa attendant duties as needed.
•          Regularly check in with the Spa Director regarding other projects and assignments.
•          Attend meetings and trainings as required.
•          Maintain a respectful rapport with all Wo’ P’in Spa team members by assisting others when needed, approaching each task with a positive attitude, and contributing to the overall harmony of the spa environment.
•          Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

•          Must be at least 21 years of age.
•          Excellent communication skills (English).
•          Ability to think and respond quickly to issues or guest needs.
•          Ability to handle multiple tasks.
•          Computer literate.
•          Detail oriented.
•          Good interpersonal, organizational and professional skills.
•          Must be flexible and adapt easily.
•          CPR certified preferred.
•          Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivated.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in customer service. 
• Experience in a resort or wellness-related field preferred.
• Second language preferred (Spanish).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

•          Standing 10% / Walking 25% / Sitting 65%.
•          Ability to grasp, lift, push, pull, and carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 25 lbs.
•          Ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop, and reach on a continuous basis up to an 8-hour shift.
•          All ergonomic aids are made available to reduce repetitive motion syndrome. 
•          Exposure to VDT's/CT's from the computer screen.
•          Required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
