Spa Massage Therapist

JOB PURPOSE:  Performs massages, body treatments, and aromatherapy for spa guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•          Perform massages, body treatments, and aromatherapy for guests according to Wo’ P’in Spa guidelines.
•          Consult guests thoroughly and efficiently regarding their needs and health prior to performing each treatment.
•          Customize treatments according to the guest’s initial consult.
•          Educate guests with regards to at-home care and product recommendations.
•          Utilize product efficiently, maintain treatment room inventory, cleanliness, and organization; including all necessary linens, massage oils and lotions, and hot stones.
•          Begin and end treatments promptly and in the assigned treatment room by adhering to the daily spa schedule.
•          Perform tasks assigned by Lead Massage Therapist.
•          Assist all guests with a kind and helpful demeanor whenever called upon.
•          Attend meetings and trainings as required.
•          Maintain a respectful rapport with all Wo’ P’in Spa team members by assisting others when needed, approaching each task with a positive attitude, and contributing to the overall harmony of the spa environment.
•          Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

•          Must be at least 21 years of age.
• ·         Adapt and maintain composure in difficult or unexpected situations.
•          CPR certification is preferred.
•          Must follow safety precautions and requirements.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid massage license as required by the State of New Mexico.
• Experience in a resort spa setting preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

•          Standing 85% / Walking 10% / Sitting 5%.
•          Ability to grasp, lift, push, pull, and carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 25 lbs.
•          Ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop, and reach on a continuous basis up to an 8-hour shift.
•          Required to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
