Stagehand

Description

Summary of Duties:

Setting up lighting, props, microphones and other equipment. Testing equipment to ensure it is in working order before filming or a performance. Building and disassembling sets. Assisting technicians with the operation of lighting, sound and video equipment.

Position Purpose:

To be successful as a Buffalo Run Stagehand, you should enjoy working with your hands and be prepared to learn new skills with each event. Outstanding candidates are self-starters with a can-do attitude who demonstrate excellent attention to detail and collaborate well in a team environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be on-site when trucks arrive and be ready to work.
• Loading and unloading performance equipment.
• Assembly and disassembly of stages, set pieces, and risers.
• Assembly and disassembly of production equipment on stage.
• Set up tables and chairs as needed.
• Moving, setting up, and striking sound, lighting, video, and facility equipment in accordance with performance act and sound/lighting technician requirements.
• Performing a variety of backstage and front of house maintenance tasks.
• Must be on-site and ready to break down and load out equipment once the show has ended.
• Maintaining a pristine work environment for our entertainment provider and our guests.
• Constantly expanding your skillsets

Requirements

Education/ Qualifications:

• Able to meet minimum physical requirements.
• Must be at least 18. 
• Excellent stamina and strength.
• Ability to collaborate with others. 
• Willingness to work long hours and/or split shifts on event days. 
• Ability to focus under pressure and follow instructions

Work Requirements:

• Safely lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Please ask for assistance with any lift that is unwieldy or if the object that you are lifting is difficult due to an unusual size or shape.
• Perform team lifting for objects greater than 50 pounds.
• Occasionally work longer than 8 hours.
• Tolerate extreme temperature and weather conditions.
• Climb stairs as well as fixed and portable ladders.
• Must be able to crouch, crawl, and maneuver in areas with limited space.
• Move heavy objects up and down ramps.
• Reach overhead and perform tasks that require fine motor skills.
• Climb on to or down from elevated work surfaces.
• Excellent grip with full range of motion of the upper extremities
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License.
