HR Manager
Buffalo Ridge Concrete Inc. is a growing ready-mix concrete company seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resources Manager to lead and develop our HR function.
As we continue to grow, we are transitioning from a shared HR responsibility model to a dedicated, full-time role. This is a unique opportunity to build, organize, and lead a comprehensive HR program from the ground up while supporting both our field and office teams.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional who can operate both strategically and tactically, and who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and physically demanding work environment.
The Human Resources Manager leads the organization’s HR functions, ensuring alignment with business objectives while fostering a positive and compliant workplace. This role oversees talent management, employee relations, and HR strategy to support organizational growth.
Job Description
HR Leadership & Program Development
- Lead and develop the company’s HR functions, aligning HR strategy with business objectives
- Establish and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Create structure and consistency across all HR processes
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership
Recruitment and Staffing
· Coordinate hiring for company roles (equipment, drivers, and office personnel)
· Work with key employees to post job openings, screen candidates, conduct interviews
· Manage onboarding and orientation for new hires
· Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs
Employee Relations
· Act as point of contact for employee concerns and conflict resolution
· Support supervisors with performance management and disciplinary actions
· Support supervisors with Work Comp, FMLA, and MN Paid Leave Programs
· Promote a positive workplace culture in a physically demanding environment
Compliance and Policies
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (e.g. wage/hour, anti-discrimination) for both South Dakota and Minnesota
· Maintain employee records and HR documentation
· Implement and enforce company policies and procedures
Benefits Administration
· Assist in administering benefits (health insurance, retirement plans, PTO)
· Assist employees with benefits questions and enrollment
· Assist employees with benefits questions and enrollment
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
· 2-5 years of HR experience, ideally in construction, Logistics, Manufacturing, or Industrial settings
· Strong communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills
· Experience with HRIS/payroll systems
· Ability to work independently
· Possess a valid Driver License

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
