Experienced Cannabis Grower

Job Summary

The Head Grower oversees all cannabis cultivation operations, including plant health, environmental controls, nutrient management, harvest scheduling, staff supervision, compliance, and production planning. This role is responsible for maximizing yield, potency, consistency, and operational efficiency while ensuring all cultivation activities comply with state and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all stages of cannabis cultivation from propagation through to harvest.
• Develop and implement cultivation schedules and production targets
• Monitor plant health, irrigation, nutrients, pest management, and environmental conditions
• Oversee integrated pest management (IPM) programs
• Maintain cultivation SOPs and ensure quality control standards
• Supervise, train, and schedule cultivation staff
• Ensure compliance with all state cannabis regulations and safety standards
• Coordinate with processing, packaging, and retail teams
• Optimize lighting, HVAC, fertigation, and climate systems for efficiency
• Conduct phenotype evaluations and assist with genetics selection when applicable
• Maintain cleanliness and biosecurity standards throughout the facility

Required Qualifications

• 3–7 years of commercial cannabis cultivation experience
• Previous leadership or management experience in a cultivation facility
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Cannabis plant biology
  • Nutrient regimens and irrigation systems
  • Environmental controls and climate management
  • IPM and disease prevention
• Familiarity with state cannabis compliance systems and METRC/BioTrack platforms
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in indoor or greenhouse environments
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in horticulture, agronomy, plant science, or related field
• Experience scaling commercial cultivation operations
• Knowledge of automation systems and data-driven cultivation methods
