Overview
Tzu Chi Elementary School is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Elementary School Homeroom Teachers (all grades) to join our small, private school community for the upcoming 2026–27 school year (August 2026 to May 2027). Job Summary:
- Teach elementary classes (TK–6) as assigned by the Principal, fostering a dynamic, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Serve as a positive role model for students by demonstrating professionalism, respect, and ethical behavior, and by integrating the values and principles of the Tzu Chi framework into daily teaching and interactions.
- Plan, implement, and assess instruction aligned with school curriculum guidelines and educational standards.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and differentiated instruction to support individual learning needs.
- Ensure student safety at all times by actively supervising students, maintaining appropriate classroom procedures, and following all school safety policies and protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment, including responsibility for the care, organization, and proper use of assigned classroom materials, furniture, and instructional resources.
- Integrate technology and multimodal instructional resources to enhance student engagement and support diverse learning styles.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development.
- Check and respond promptly to professional communications from colleagues, families, and administration.
- Participate in staff development and training opportunities; demonstrate a commitment to professional growth by accepting constructive feedback and implementing best instructional practices.
- Maintain and submit required instructional, assessment, and student documentation in a timely manner when requested.
- Report directly to the School Principal and collaborate with administration and colleagues to support student success and school-wide goals.
- Participate in lunch and recess supervision, as well as other duties as assigned.
- Attend and actively participate in school events and activities, including Back-to-School Night, Open House, faculty meetings, and other events as determined by school leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (required); Master’s degree preferred
- Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (highly preferred)
- 1–3 years of elementary teaching experience preferred
- ESL or TESOL certification preferred
- Strong commitment to high-quality instruction and an understanding of the developmental needs of elementary students
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated professionalism, responsibility, flexibility, and reliability in a school setting
- Ability to adapt to a small-school environment and work collaboratively with students, families, and colleagues
Salary Range: $43,481.45-$63,682.74 (Annually; based on education degree, credentials, and teaching experience)
