What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Helper position at Budd Van Lines?
Role Summary
Assist with loading and unloading while providing efficient warehousing and storage services, ensuring minimal damage to customer property entering and leaving storage.
Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Load and unload pallets and trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Pad and wrap furniture and fixtures in warehouse.
- Build storage pallets and crates.
- Ensure warehouse facilities are neat and well organized.
- Assist warehouse assistant with inventory control.
- Assist the Facilities Department when needed.
- Sweep and maintain warehouse floor.
- Stock packing material.
- Compact used boxes in compactor
- Check off shipments using Bingo and Inventories.
- Maintain that the parking lot is clean from debris.
- Other duties as assigned or requested by supervisor or manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience: Woodshop experience preferred but not required
- Training/Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Forklift certification preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry 40 plus pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
• Ability to safely load, secure, and move heavy household goods and equipment.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts and loading equipment.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and residential environments.
• Ability to safely operate moving equipment, hand tools, and loading apparatus.
