Summary:
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for generating comprehensive quotations for mechanical and sheet metal products. The successful incumbent will work under the direction of the Estimating Manager to perform appropriate product and accessory selections based on a thorough review and take-off of the published bid package using the manufacturer’s software, apply an appropriate markup, and develop a written quotation describing products, accessories and exceptions.
Job Responsibilities:
· Perform electronic take-off’s using software, review and evaluate specifications, schedules and details to ensure proper accessories are selected and quoted
· Develop comprehensive understanding of selection software packages provided by our manufacturers
· Generate comprehensive customer quotes for all products represented by Buckley
· Ensure desired level of profitability is obtained by consistently following the pricing structure and following established sales procedures
· Maintain knowledge of HVAC fundamentals and product lines, staying informed of new products; and utilizing opportunities to further educate self, co-workers and customers
Job Requirements:
· This position requires technical understanding of HVAC products and systems
· Ability to multitask with effective organizational skills with attention to detail
· Ability to use logic and reasoning to work through design issues while estimating projects
· Ability to meet deadlines without constant supervision and handle fast-paced work environment.
· Ability to work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations
· Ability to follow established sales guidelines and procedures
Education & Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, preferred
· 3 plus years of relevant experience (7 years preferred)
· Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook
· Ability to read and understand blueprints, equipment schedules and specifications
