Job Summary:

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you’ll work under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic interventions that help participants maintain or regain skills for daily living. You’ll support participants in improving mobility, independence, and overall quality of life across a variety of settings, including our Erie Center, participants’ homes, skilled nursing facilities, and hospitals.

This position is ideal for someone who is precise, patient, and dependable, and who enjoys working at a steady pace with structured routines. You’ll be part of a collaborative, participant-focused team that values accuracy, consistency, and meaningful support.

Hourly Wage:

$25.00 /hr. to start - $26.00 after 90 days

Schedule:

First shift, full-time hours. Specific work hours will be established in consultation with your supervisor.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapeutic interventions and activities in accordance with the participant’s plan of care.
  • Recommend adaptive and durable medical equipment to promote independence and safety.
  • Document treatments and progress accurately in electronic medical records.
  • Provide training and guidance to family members, caregivers, and staff.
  • Assist in restorative and wellness programs for participants.
  • Deliver care in multiple settings, including the center, participants’ homes, skilled nursing facilities, or hospitals.
  • Communicate participant progress and changes to the care team.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with participants, families, and facility staff.
  • Follow established protocols and procedures for all treatments and documentation.
  • Participate in team discussions and quality improvement initiatives.

  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain after hire — we’ll provide the training!)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Education and Experience:

  • Active licensure to practice in the state where the COTA resides, or practices required.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working with the frail and elderly population is strongly preferred, but a minimum of 1 year is required.
  • Experience with adaptive equipment and therapeutic interventions a plus.

Requirements:

  • Requires valid State driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Successful completion of background check, physical, drug screening, TB Screening

Physical Requirements:

  • Intermittent periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, and standing, lifting, and bending to provide treatments to participants.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, demonstrate, and perform therapeutic interventions as often as participant treatment plans require.
  • Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
