The Coordinator role requires an individual with excellent organizational skills to schedule and implement a plan in concert with BNSF, Port, and Dray community. The individual must possess above average technical skills to use BNSF and Port developed systems in the managing and tracking of freight both within the yard as well as within the port.The Coordinator reports to the facility Terminal Manager.ResponsibilitiesThe Coordinator is responsible for organizing a plan that meets client deadlines and maintains both BNSF and Port fluidity by leveraging internal dray community. The role requires the individual to understand complex intermodal, port and dray industry regulatory guidelines and follow the regulatory guidelines while establishing the terminal plan.The scope of the coordinator includes the following procedures and tasks:Forecast, manage, create and augment terminal plan with BNSF, Port, and Dray community.Communication of plan to all key stake holders to ensure execution of plan is clearly established.Oversight and understanding of inbound/outbound vessel discharge and its effect on port, terminal, and dray operations.Assign available trucking support to meet or exceed service levels as required by Port and BNSF. High degree of emphasis in this job role focuses on interaction between several parties to ensure the service and fluidity of both Port and BNSF Operations.Clearly communicate terminal plan with team and coordinate/augment plan with Lift operations team as needed.Manage holds and exceptions on individual unitsConfirm Hub Manager receives correct train, vessel and dray informationUse the Terminal Operating System (TOS) and other support systems to locate train and vessel information for Team.Log information in client reportsMentor new personnel in Coordinator proceduresManage and correct for driver exceptions as needed while maintaining high degree of customer satisfaction.Other duties as needs and assigned by management.RequirementsThe Coordinator role requires the following:Four years’ experience working in the transportation industry, preferredStrong ability to analyze and solve problems on an immediate basis, and to develop and implement procedural changes without supervisionPossess strong interpersonal skills to support work as a teamAbility to provide premium customer service to Client and Customer alike.Ability to multitask in an evolving work environment with dramatic swings in workload.Excellent time management skillsStrong written and oral communication skills to train subordinates, peers, and senior level managers effectivelySkills to adapt to rapidly changing customer requests and requirements, seasonal variances in workload, and industry needs and requirementsProficient in Microsoft® Word® and Excel®Ability to pass and maintain certifications or proficiency in the following areas:eRAILSAFE CertificationRules and RegulationsPhysicalTo perform the essential functions of this job, an employee must meet the physical demands in this job description. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.HoursThis role is a full-time position with non-standard work hours, including overnight, weekends, and holidays. The Coordinator will typically work 8-12 hour shifts, Monday – Sunday. Specific hours and days of rest are set by management to best service the needs of the terminal operations, as such hours may change based on the operational need.Work EnvironmentThe Coordinator role works in an office environment. The position can require long periods of sitting and viewing computer screens. Occasional bending, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying can occur.Additionally, the role requires the individual to work on-site at an intermodal facility. The Coordinator must possess company-issued personal protective equipment (PPE) and applicable licenses, as well as follow on-site safety guidelines.Selection GuidelinesThis position requires a formal application, rating of education and experience, oral interview, and reference check. Salary : $42,560 - $66,600
