Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Roll-Off Driver to join our team. In this vital role, you will operate specialized roll-off trucks to transport and dispose of waste, recyclables, and other cargo efficiently and safely. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with your knowledge of logistics cargo handling and safety regulations, will ensure smooth delivery and pickup operations across various routes. This position will require you to uphold the highest standard of customer that our customers have come to expect. You may also be needed to operate other equipment depending on the day.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate roll-off trucks, including tractor-trailers, dump trucks, and flatbed vehicles, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation), FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), and hazardous materials regulations.
- Drive route-specific deliveries and pickups using GPS navigation systems to optimize efficiency and timeliness.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before operating the vehicle.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any logistical issues promptly.
- Communicate with the customer with delivery timelines.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving, especially with tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, or freight delivery vehicles.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and manual handling procedures.
- Knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures for various types of freight including refrigerated trailers, tanker loads, or hazardous materials.
- Ability to operate GPS navigation systems confidently for route planning.
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations applicable to commercial trucking.
- Strong physical stamina for manual handling tasks and long hours on the road.
