Staff Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY 

Bucked Up is seeking a qualified Staff Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance department. Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of general accounting functions in support of accurate and timely financial reporting. The successful candidate will assist with month-end close, maintain general ledger accounts, prepare reconciliations, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.

Our products are sold across specialty retail, grocery, mass, club, and direct-to-consumer channels throughout the United States and internationally. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

• Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable function. 
• Assist with inventory accounting, cost tracking, and variance analysis. 
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner. 
• Assist with the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. 
• Prepare and post journal entries, prepaids, and recurring entries, in accordance with U.S. GAAP. 
• Maintain the fixed asset subledger, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules. 
• Assist with sales and use tax compliance, filings, and related reconciliations. 
• Prepare workpapers and supporting documentation for external audits and tax engagements. 
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in the implementation of related initiatives. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments, including Operations, Sales, and Marketing, to ensure accurate financial data. 
• Perform other duties, special projects, and ad-hoc analyses as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution. 
• Working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP). 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and data analysis. 
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
• Effective written and verbal communication skills. 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

• Industry experience in consumer products, manufacturing, or other inventory-intensive businesses. 
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite, SAP, or other comparable ERP platforms. 
• Familiarity with TaxJar, Ramp, Expensify, Floqast, or similar finance applications. 
• Experience with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or comparable data and reporting tools. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

This position operates in a professional office environment at the Company's headquarters in Orem, Utah. Standard business hours apply, with extended hours required during month-end close, year-end close, and external audit periods.
