This highly visible role partners directly with firm leadership and top-tier attorneys across IP, complex commercial, securities, and employment litigation. The Business Development Manager will play a critical role in shaping and executing growth strategy through sophisticated market intelligence, client development initiatives, and high-impact pursuits.
Locations: San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Santa Monica, Seattle, NYC, or Boston (Hybrid)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead market research, competitive intelligence, and business analysis to identify and execute on strategic growth opportunities
- Partner with practice leaders and attorneys to develop and implement client relationship strategies and cross-selling initiatives
- Oversee high-profile RFPs, pitches, and experience management efforts
- Drive thought leadership, events, and profile-raising initiatives to enhance market presence
- Collaborate cross-functionally on lateral partner integration and ensure seamless onboarding and client transition
- Develop and track key metrics to optimize BD performance and demonstrate ROI
- Mentor and manage junior BD professionals while enhancing overall team effectiveness
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or JD preferred
- 5 years of business development experience within a law firm environment
- Strong understanding of the legal and business needs of technology-driven industries (e.g., software, life sciences, venture capital, IP)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into compelling messaging
- Proven ability to manage high-profile projects, including pitches, proposals, and client initiatives
- Advanced proficiency in CRM systems, data analysis, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders
Salary : $160,000 - $200,000
