Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise nursing staff to deliver exceptional patient care aligned with facility policies and standards.
- Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs, and medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform catheterizations following strict aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, and monitor patients’ physiological responses to treatments including pain management and ventilator support.
- Oversee triage processes for incoming patients, prioritizing urgent needs in emergency medicine or urgent care settings with Level I or Level II trauma experience.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and post-acute care strategies for diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal, and individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia.
- Ensure compliance with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards for accurate medical records and billing procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current state certification.
- Proven experience in critical care environments such as ICU, Emergency Room, or Level I Trauma Centers is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; experience with medical imaging or laboratory systems is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology necessary for comprehensive patient assessment and treatment planning.
- Experience working with diverse populations including seniors in assisted living or long-term care facilities; familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice services, or behavioral health is a plus.
- Ability to perform advanced nursing procedures such as tube feeding, sterile processing, suture management, and spinal taps confidently.
