Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in warehouse distribution and materials handling, with a strong focus on efficiency and accuracy. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our shipping and receiving processes, as well as maintaining the organization of our warehouse.
Duties
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely to load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Perform order picking using RF scanners to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Manage shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Assist in inventory management by conducting regular stock checks and reporting discrepancies.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and address any operational challenges.
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and company policies regarding safety practices in the warehouse.
- Utilize pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and other materials handling equipment as needed for various tasks.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, including order picking and heavy lifting.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking inventory and orders.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to the operation of forklifts and other heavy equipment.
- Ability to operate cranes, pallet jacks, and other materials handling tools effectively.
- Experience in shipping & receiving processes, ensuring timely delivery of goods.
- Previous roles as a warehouse supervisor or similar positions are advantageous.
- Knowledge of safety standards (OSHA) related to forklift operation and warehouse activities.
