Accounts Payable Specialist
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for monitoring the outflow of capital for the company.
Essential Functions
1. Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
2. Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
3. Freight match of invoices in BTX Accounting system, and audit of EDI invoices.
4. Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
5. Records entries, verifies documentation.
6. Calculates and reports sales tax based on paid invoices.
7. Other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
1. High school diploma, and 2-4 years related experience
2. Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
3. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.
4. Must be able to learn other accounting software systems.
5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
6. Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
Preferred Education & Experience
Business or Accounting degree, or related certifications.
For Connecticut, the expected salary range for this position is between $50,000 and $52,000 annually. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time non-exempt in-person position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5pm.
