What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Database Administrator position at BTI?
Responsibilities:
The Lead Database Administrator (DBA) shall ensure that all work performed by the teams complies with technical, security and IT policy guidelines.
The Lead DBA shall be responsible for leading and performing cloud platform database administration for a large-scale, complex, high-performance enterprise RDS.
The Lead DBA shall work closely with developers, ISSO and engineers to develop, design, manage and maintain RDS, to ensure effective integration among information systems and the IT infrastructure is continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry standards as well as emerging business and security requirements.
Understands the interactions between databases, systems, applications, infrastructure, DevOps tools and technologies and services within the environment, and evaluate the impact of changes or additions.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or substitute additional years of related experience
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the IT-DBA experience of which three (3) years shall be in architecture, design, management and maintenance of relational enterprise database services (RDS) such as Oracle or PostGreSQL, preferably in AWS.
Must have a strong understanding and work experience in DevOps tools and technologies such as GitHub, Jenkins CICD, Dockers, Secrets Management, Encryption at Rest, and Microservices for enterprise applications in cloud platforms, preferably in AWS.
Must have experience working closely with developers, ISSO and engineers to develop, design, manage and maintain RDS, ensuring effective integration among information systems and the IT infrastructure is continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry standards as well as emerging business and security requirements.
