About the role
We are hiring a Senior BC Technical Lead to own AL architecture and delivery for a growing client portfolio. You will lead a small development team, partner with the firm's Architecture Authority on system design, and operate inside a defined QA gate framework that protects code quality from sprint commit to production release.
This is not a code-pumping role. It is a technical leadership role inside a quality-first development culture. Quality and accuracy come first. Functionality second. Speed third. That order is non-negotiable, and it shapes every architectural decision we make.
Who you will work with
You will report to the Program Director and lead two BC developers (one Senior, one mid), and work with other team members including a scrum master. You will partner closely with the firm's Architecture Authority on solution architecture and with the Scrum Master on the QA gate, which governs every AL feature before it reaches production. You will be a member of the practice leadership group and a stakeholder in client engagement scoping.
What you will own
AL architecture and code standards across all client engagements. Code review and pull request approval. AppSource-grade extension design from project initiation. Three-environment AL-Go pipeline integrity across Dev, UAT, and Production. Mentorship and technical development of two BC developers. Partnership with the QA gate on context briefs and code review standards. Direct technical engagement with clients during scoping and design phases.
What you will deliver
Production-ready BC extensions and integrations across multiple client tenants. Architecture documentation that scales with the practice. A development team that reaches and sustains certified competency on MB-820. A measurable Spec-to-Artifact quality benchmark that improves quarter over quarter.
Required experience
Ten or more years working as a Business Central or NAV developer, with substantial hands-on AL development on Business Central. Demonstrated end-to-end delivery experience on multiple full-cycle BC implementations, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, data migration, integrations, UAT, go-live, and post-go-live support. Candidates without verifiable end-to-end delivery history will not be considered. Direct experience with AppSource extension architecture and Microsoft's technical standards for marketplace listings. Working command of AL-Go for GitHub or Azure DevOps and CI/CD discipline for AL code. Experience leading or mentoring a small development team, with explicit ownership of code review and technical standards. Strong written and verbal communication. You will be the senior technical voice in client conversations.
Required certification
Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer Associate (MB-820). This certification must be current at time of hire. Non-negotiable.
Preferred experience
Power Platform integration experience, particularly Power Automate flows that touch BC. Microsoft Solutions Partner program familiarity from the technical contributor side. Prior consulting or systems integrator background. Experience with AI-assisted development tooling, including BC Code Intelligence, GitHub Copilot, and modern code-aware assistants.
Education
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent professional experience considered.
Work environment
Fully remote. Standard collaboration hours overlap with US Pacific and Mountain time zones. Periodic travel for client engagements and an annual practice gathering.
