Experienced Landscaper / Hardscape Crew Leader
BT Property Services is looking to hire a reliable and experienced Landscaper with Hardscape experience who can also lead a mowing crew during the landscape maintenance season. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working outdoors, and capable of managing a small team.
We service high-end residential and commercial properties throughout Northern New Jersey and are looking for someone who is dependable, skilled, and ready to grow with our team.
Minimum Requirements
- 3 years of professional landscaping experience
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive company trucks
- Must speak English (bilingual Spanish/English preferred)
- Ability to lead and manage a small crew
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Hardscape Experience (Preferred)
Applicants should have experience with some or all of the following:
- Paver patio installation
- Walkways and pathways
- Retaining walls (block or stone systems)
- Concrete or masonry work
- Excavation and site preparation
- Base preparation (gravel, compaction, screeding)
- Drainage installation (French drains, pipe systems, dry wells)
- Cutting pavers and stone with saws
- Reading basic layout plans and elevations
- Operating equipment such as:
- Plate compactors
- Skid steers
- Mini excavators
- Power cutters and masonry saws
Landscape Maintenance Skills
Candidates should also be comfortable performing and supervising weekly landscape maintenance including:
- Commercial and residential mowing
- Line trimming / weed whacking
- Bed edging and definition
- Hedge and shrub trimming
- Leaf cleanup and seasonal property cleanups
- Mulching and bed preparation
- Basic plant care and pruning
- Blowing off all hard surfaces and walkways
- Operating commercial landscape equipment
Additional Preferred Skills
- Crew leadership / foreman experience
- Ability to train and supervise team members
- Knowledge of landscape equipment maintenance
- Experience working on high-end properties with attention to detail
