Position Description
POSITION TITLE: Maintenance Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have at least 5 years of extensive maintenance experience
- Must have supervisory experience
- Ability to follow instructions & take the initiative in the performance of assigned tasks
- Physical ability to walk, stoop, stand, twist & squat on a constant basis
- Lift a minimum of 60 pounds
- Must have a high school diploma or GED

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Job Summary
Oversees the management and daily operations of district facilities. The successful candidate must be excellent in organizational and communication skills.
- Recruits, hires, and oversees the evaluation of custodial and maintenance staff.
- Plans and directs the work of all building and grounds personnel involved in the maintenance and custodial operations on school properties and related facilities.
- Assess, evaluate, and determine the proper action to be taken to complete repairs in an effective and timely manner utilizing school policy, fundamental maintenance practices, and prioritizing decision-making.
- Conducts routine and periodic inspections of schools and facilities.
- Analyzes needs and makes recommendations for procurement of materials and supplies.
- Prepares specifications and submits cost estimates of proposed work activities.
- Supervises building and grounds maintenance inventory, and implements a system of controls.
- Provides training and professional development for maintenance and custodial staff, as needed.
- Conducts safety inspections, accident investigations, and training programs to create a safe environment.
- Develops and executes annual priority list for maintenance of buildings.
- Ensures compliance with State Facility Department regulations.
- Oversees compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Keep the administration informed of matters related to maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
