The Student Accounts Manager plays a critical role in supporting student success by ensuring a clear, accurate, and compassionate student billing experience. This position oversees student accounts operations while serving as a trusted resource for students and families navigating tuition, fees, payments, and financial obligations. The ideal candidate brings a strong service mindset, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to helping students persist and graduate by reducing financial barriers and confusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day student accounts operations, including billing, payment processing, refunds, and collections
- Supervise, train, and support student accounts staff with a focus on service excellence
- Resolve complex or sensitive account issues with professionalism, discretion, and a student-centered approach
- Administer and monitor payment plans, balancing institutional policy with flexibility and student needs
- Review and reconcile student account transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Prepare reports on receivables, aging, and account trends to support planning and decision-making
- Collaborate closely with Financial Aid, Registrar, Admissions, Advising, and IT to provide a seamless student experience
- Ensure compliance with FERPA, Title IV, and institutional policies while maintaining a supportive, approachable office culture
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, higher education administration, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in student accounts, accounts receivable, or student financial services (higher education preferred)
- Demonstrated experience providing customer service in a complex, policy-driven environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information in a clear, student-friendly way
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working directly with students in a college or university setting
- Supervisory or team leadership experience
- Familiarity with Title IV regulations and higher education compliance
- Experience with Banner application

Salary
$71,500 – 76,500
