As a lifeguard, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and customer service, ensuring patrons have a positive experience. This position reports to the Director of Athletics, Physical Education, and Wellness, as well as the Aquatics Director.

Schedule & Compensation: This is a part-time, temporary/seasonal position, for Summer 2026, working approximately 15-20 hours per week. Shift includes morning and afternoon availability, as determined by the Athletics Department. Compensation ranges from $17-$20 per hour, depending on experience.

Characteristic Responsibilities
- Provide constant surveillance and care for the pool and pool area.
- Enforce pool rules in a consistent manner.
- Ensure guest safety by supervising swimming, identifying and mitigating potential hazards, enforcing rules, and conducting emergency rescues.
- Handle conflict with courtesy and fairness.
- Respond quickly and in accordance with established emergency and accident management procedures.
- Administer first aid and CPR as required.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
- Attend scheduled in-service trainings.
- Ensure cleanliness of the facility (pool deck and pool area).
- Monitor chemical levels (training provided).
- Communicate with lifeguards, Aquatic Director, and members of the campus community.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Lifeguard Certification by a recognized source of training (i.e. Red Cross).
- CPR Certification by a recognized source of training (i.e. Red Cross, American Heart Association).
- Highly dependable with a history of consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Initiative to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Dependable transportation to and from work.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to lift pool equipment, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in warm, humid environments.
- Ability to understand and follow applicable laws, College policies, and employment regulations, including NCAA and Centennial Conference regulations.
- Successful completion of satisfactory background checks.
