BryLin is currently hiring for:
Per Diem Staff Pharmacist
Weekends/Evenings/Covering vacations
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains computer based profiles on all patients.
- Supervises technician work product, fulfills technician functions in the absence of a technician.
- Maintains appropriate controlled substance supplies and paperwork, both in nursing units and within the pharmacy.
- Fills or checks unit dose carts and maintains proper documentation.
- Fills patient and employee prescriptions and maintains appropriate records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Clarifies physician orders such as: orders for non formulary products, changes orders when necessary as outlined in the policy of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
- When necessary, clarifies orders involving drug, drug interactions, drug food interactions, drug lab test interactions. This clarification may involve communication with the ordering physician as well as other ancillary departments.
- Assists the Director in the training of pharmacy students/interns.
- Performs unit inspections.
- Prepares medication incident reports.
- Prepares adverse drug reaction reports.
- Prepares formulary reviews
- Places pharmaceutical order with local wholesaler in the absence of the Director.
- Provides drug information in both formal and informal consultation with physician, physician extenders, nursing staff and employees.
- Performs patient counseling regarding certain drug products as delineated by policy such as disulfiram, estrogen.
- Performs patient counseling as requested by physicians as noted in the patients’ medical orders; when requested by the patient; or when deemed necessary by the Pharmacist or Nursing Department.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree
- Current New York State pharmacy license
- One year experience
Salary : $55 - $57
