What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Support Specialist position at Brunswick Community College?
General Function
The Program Support Specialist performs data entry related to course builds, registration, enrollment, student records, and end of course paperwork. The Program Support Specialist will have a working knowledge of the One Stop services that provides support for college programs, resources, credentials, financial aid, and academic support services. This position will provide quality customer service through written and oral communications. The Program Support Specialist is responsible for providing assistance to the Public Safety Division through cross training of processes with continuing education and curriculum programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilites
- Fosters a collegial relationship among colleagues and partners.
- Foster a student-success-centered environment in the Public Safety Division that supports the College’s Mission, Goals, and Core Values.
- Provide professional interaction in person, email, or phone communications to students, employees, and visitors.
- Supports the student access, success and completion agenda.
- Facilitate all required data entry paperwork and processes for continuing education courses to include but not limited to course build in Colleague, contract distribution, entering students’ information in Colleague, roster comparison, Fund Five, and all end of course paperwork.
- Ensure compliance with third party accreditation, state, and national standards.
- Ensure compliance with quality record keeping and internal audits/second party checks.
- Proctor exams if needed for Office of State Fire Marshall (OSFM).
- Provide a full range of student support services for the Public Safety programs through knowledge of enrollment, student records, resources, credentials, financial aid, and academic support services.
- Liaison with community partners, schools and peer institutions to meet their needs and strengthen partnerships.
- Participates in various committees and/or campus-wide activities.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate Degree from an accredited institution.
- Strong organizational skills with a high degree of detail orientation and the ability to multi-task in a face-paced environment and ability to work independently.
- Demonstrates excellent oral & written communication skills.
- A commitment to professional excellence.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as a team and collaborate with others.
Preferred Requirements
- Academic advising experience in a college or university setting.
- Datatel/Colleague experience
