What are the responsibilities and job description for the PT Carpentry Instructor position at Brunswick Community College?
General Function
The instructor is responsible for delivering classroom/lab instruction in the carpentry trade. Duties will include planning, implementation, and evaluation of program components, services, and related activities. The instructor will work closely with the Director of Workforce & Trades Education in matters related to and for the benefit of the specific program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilites
- Prepare and update materials and outlines.
- Provide traditional lecture and project-based learning activities, including real-world scenarios, as it relates to the construction trade.
- Prepare course objectives following industry standards and applicable requirements by contract.
- Plan and document a program of study that meets the needs and abilities of students.
- Complete accurate attendance documentation and other course related paperwork.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five or more years of direct experience in the carpentry field .
- Obtain the National Center for Construction Education and Research Certification (NCCER) within two months of employment.
- Ability to work daytime or evening hours
- Basic computer skills.
Preferred Requirements
- National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certification and teaching experience is a plus.
- Third party certifications.
