About the Role:
The Heat Treat/Tocco Technician plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by ensuring that metal components undergo precise heat treatment procedures to achieve desired mechanical properties and performance standards. This position involves operating and monitoring heat treatment furnaces, including Tocco testing equipment, to verify material hardness and quality. The technician will collaborate closely with production and quality assurance teams to maintain process consistency and troubleshoot any deviations. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount to prevent defects and ensure compliance with industry standards. Ultimately, this role contributes directly to the reliability and durability of manufactured products, supporting overall operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in heat treatment operations within a manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of metallurgical principles and heat treatment processes.
- Familiarity with hardness testing methods, including Tocco testing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, work instructions, and process specifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in heat treatment or metallurgical testing.
- Experience with computerized furnace control systems.
