Brunel is recruiting a Turnaround Execution Coordinator II (Shutdown Coordinator) to work in Midland, TX, for a 12-month contract role with our major upstream oil and gas client.
The selected candidate will provide coordination-focused planning support for shutdowns in an upstream environment. This role involves coordinating multiple execution and planning groups, managing approximately 90 days of planning and short execution windows. Local candidates only.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate multiple execution and planning groups in a fast-paced environment
- Support shutdown events on a quarterly cycle, managing the planning phase and downtime/execution periods
- Work closely with field teams to drive consistency across groups
- Conduct scope walk-downs, isolation planning, and field reviews
- Facilitate meetings and host planning sessions
- Provide planning and administrative support
- Spend time in the field as needed to support execution and alignment
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of varied experience in maintenance or operations background
- Strong coordination and planning skills with specific experience in shutdowns or turnarounds
- Background in emergency or lead planning
- Experience with large operator processes or systems is preferred
- Must provide own transportation
Required Skills & Schedule:
- Scheduler or planner experience preferred
- Ability to develop, shape, and improve processes (Process optimization mindset is a strong advantage)
- Schedule: Standard 5 on / 2 off schedule (typically 8-hour days with potential to flex up to 10 hours)
- Willingness to work occasional flex schedules or weekends based on workload
