Location: Midland, TX (Field-based with travel throughout Texas & New Mexico)
Facilities Engineer
We're seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to support operations across oil & gas production facilities. This role focuses on providing engineering support for operating assets, improving engineering documentation, supporting facility modifications, and ensuring equipment and engineering activities meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of plant equipment, enjoys working closely with operations, and is comfortable splitting time between the field and office.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Area Engineer supporting assigned operating facilities.
- Provide engineering support for pressure equipment, piping, tanks, static equipment, and rotating equipment.
- Support facility repairs, modifications, and engineering changes.
- Participate in shutdown and maintenance planning and execution.
- Review engineering documentation, drawings, and contractor deliverables for accuracy and compliance.
- Help standardize engineering documentation and ensure alignment with company standards.
- Conduct facility surveillance activities and monitor area performance metrics.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Contractors, and other Engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues.
- Ensure engineering work complies with company standards, industry codes, and safety requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline preferred (equivalent industry experience will also be considered).
- 5 years of Facilities, Plant, Area, Mechanical, or Operations Engineering experience within industrial facilities.
- Experience supporting operating facilities in Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, Refining, Chemical Processing, or similar industries.
- Strong knowledge of pressure equipment, piping systems, rotating equipment, static equipment, tanks, and plant facilities.
- Experience supporting plant modifications, repairs, shutdowns, or turnaround activities.
- Understanding of engineering standards, industry codes, and safety requirements.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with Power BI or Aconex is a plus.
Additional Information
- Location: Midland, TX.
- Frequent travel to operating sites throughout Texas and New Mexico is required.
- Monday–Friday schedule with overtime available as needed.
