Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to support a large-scale Data Center construction program in Texas. This individual will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and maintaining project estimates throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual planning through detailed execution. The Estimator will work closely with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, and project controls teams to provide accurate cost information that supports project planning, budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have experience estimating large capital projects within data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial construction, power, utilities, oil and gas, or other complex infrastructure environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual, budgetary, definitive, and detailed cost estimates for data center construction projects.
• Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and engineering deliverables.
• Analyze labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and indirect costs to develop accurate project estimates.
• Review engineering documents, construction drawings, and project scope packages to identify cost impacts and estimate requirements.
• Support estimate development during all project phases, including planning, design, procurement, and construction.
• Participate in estimate reviews, benchmarking activities, and cost validation exercises.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and project controls teams to ensure estimates align with project scope and execution strategies.
• Develop and maintain estimating databases, cost models, and historical cost information.
• Prepare estimate basis documents and supporting estimate assumptions.
• Perform cost risk assessments and identify estimate uncertainties, opportunities, and potential cost exposures.
• Support change management activities by evaluating estimate impacts associated with scope changes and design modifications.
• Review contractor, vendor, and subcontractor pricing proposals and provide comparative analysis.
• Participate in bid evaluations and contractor selection processes.
• Assist with project budgeting, forecasting, and cost planning activities.
• Provide estimate updates as project scope evolves throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support management presentations and project reviews with estimate data and cost analysis.
• Ensure compliance with company estimating procedures, standards, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Business, or related technical discipline. Relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum 10 years of estimating experience supporting large construction, industrial, infrastructure, mission-critical, or capital projects.
• Experience working within an EPC environment or a combination of EPC and Owner organizations.
• Experience supporting projects from early development through execution, including greenfield and brownfield capital projects.
• Experience developing cost estimates across multiple project phases.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, labor productivity, equipment costs, and material pricing.
• Experience performing quantity take-offs and estimate validation.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and scope documents.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work within a fast-paced project environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Data Center or Mission Critical facility construction experience.
• Experience supporting hyperscale data center projects.
• Experience with electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, and building systems estimating.
• Familiarity with cost benchmarking and estimate assurance processes.
• Experience supporting EPC, EPCM, Owner, or Contractor organizations.
• Knowledge of project controls, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management processes.
• Experience reviewing contractor and subcontractor estimates.
• AACE certification (CCE, CEP, PSP) or similar industry certification preferred.
• Experience with estimating platforms such as Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE), InEight Estimate, Cleopatra Enterprise, EcoSys, Sage Estimating, CostX, WinEst, HeavyBid, or similar tools.
