Field Operator III – Chemical Technician

We are seeking an experienced Field Operator III – Chemical Technician to join a leading oil & gas operation in Carlsbad, NM. This role is responsible for safely operating wells and production equipment while supporting chemical operations, equipment reliability, and production optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong operations background, excellent safety awareness, and experience working in upstream production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate wells and production equipment following established operating and safety procedures.
- Monitor wells and equipment to identify operational issues and implement corrective actions.
- Perform basic maintenance activities as part of equipment care responsibilities.
- Coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Collect product samples and perform field laboratory testing.
- Maintain accurate operational logs and communicate detailed shift handovers.
- Participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and emergency response activities.
- Support well intervention (Wellwork) operations as needed.
- Monitor production rates and assist with troubleshooting well performance.
- Maintain housekeeping and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Field Technician, Production Operator, Lease Operator, Chemical Technician, or similar oil & gas operations role.
- Experience operating production facilities and field equipment.
- Knowledge of pipeline operations and production systems.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.
- Experience collecting product samples and performing field tests is preferred.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures, emergency response, and environmental compliance.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
